Away from the hustle, bustle and bright lights of Marbella, you will find a quieter, elegant and rather exclusive residential area that not many people have heard about. We are of course talking about Guadalmina, which is discretely nestled five kilometres west of the luxurious Puerto Banús and close to San Pedro Alcántara. Renowned for its stunning beaches, leafy residential zones and multitude of lush golf courses, this area is also close to the mountain village of Benahávis, famous throughout the region as a gastronomic paradise. It’s not as well known or as lively as its world famous neighbours, however it is fast becoming popular with a particular type of celebrity that likes to keep out of the limelight.
Originally founded as a luxury residential area just outside San Pedro Alcántara, then just a little farming village a little west of Marbella, Guadalmina soon became popular with wealthy homeowners in search of space, privacy, views and a combination of seaside and golf-fronting locations made possible by the fact that the Guadalmina Golf Club is one of the few along the Costa del Sol that fringes the dunes.
