Marbella and its neighbouring coastal towns, popular with expats, are dotted along the Costa del Sol and stretch for miles, from Málaga in the east all the way to Sotogrande in the west.
The extension and modernisation project started at Málaga Airport a few years ago has added, amongst others, a new runway and a fantastic new main terminal that ranks with the finest in Europe. Not only is the travel experience greatly enhanced, but the handling capacity of the airport has been streamlined and expanded as well.
The Costa del Sol is looking forward to welcoming more visitors to the area in 2013 with many airlines introducing new direct flights to Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport, already the fourth busiest airport in Spain, and ranking third in the list of European airports with the most flights to the UK.
