Marbella Marina

Qatari sheikh wants to move forward with new Marbella marina

Ambitious plans to expand the existing La Bajadilla fishing port just east of the central waterfront of Marbella, and convert it into an ultramodern marina and cruise ship terminal were revealed in 2011 amid great enthusiasm. The Marbella Town Hall has been pushing this project for some time, mindful of the boost such a facility and its construction could provide for the local economy and job creation. They also intend that the new port will act as a catalyst for the redevelopment of the La Ermita, which would see this business park on the eastside of the town’s coastal area move inland and be replaced by luxury residential, commercial and recreational projects.
