Easter in Marbella.

In Marbella Easter represents the start of the warm weather. It’s a chance to spend quality time with the family and enjoy some outdoor life. There is plenty to keep the family entertained throughout the whole week of Easter, from the famous processions, which take place throughout the centre of Marbella, to children’s Easter egg hunts and sporting activities ─ whatever your interest you can be sure to find something to help entertain both adults and children. Marbella Easter TraditionSemana Santa is the name given to Holy Week in Spain and it is celebrated in every village and city around the country. In Marbella, the weeklong event takes place in the streets of the Old Town. Here large floats, also known as thrones (some of which are centuries old), are carried from the church along with candles and banners by members of the local brotherhood (Costaleros). They take them around the streets to the cathedral and then back to the main church. These processions attract thousands of people from all over and the restaurants and bars around Marbella exude an extra vibrant atmosphere throughout this week. In addition to Easter, there are also a number of other fun-filled events taking place in and around Marbella to help entertain the children. The film camp is available to participants between the ages of eight and 16 years of age, and begins on Monday 10th April. Easter Egg Hunt Marbella Easter wouldn’t quite be the same without an Easter egg hunt, now would it? The British tea room in Puerto Banús , LuLu Jane Marbs, has organised just that and a whole lot more at its Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Easter Extravaganza, which includes Easter crafts & chocolate making, Oompa Loompa egg hunt, fancy dress fun, Easter prizes and lunch with drinks on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th April.
