Those of us who live in Marbella realise the importance the tourist industry has to the lives of everyone in this region, with very few sectors of employment not being directly or indirectly influenced by the summer tourist influx. A recent announcement by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística has brought more good news to the area, with a record breaking number of overnight stays being announced for the period of June – September. For the first time over 25 million overnight stays were made throughout the Andalucía region, a 1.6% increase on last year. The Andalucía tourism minister Francisco Javier Fernandez made the announcement and declared, “This figure means that employment is not threatened outside of high season. Now we are going to make an effort to ensure that this keeps going in October and November, up until the Christmas season.” This is great news for those own have rental properties in the area, a sector that has seen a great deal of growth in recent years. There are more than 17,000 private home lets in the region that are taken up by foreigners and Spanish nationals alike. Altavista Property has some great properties for sale that are ideal for investment for this type of holiday rental. The first properties to be snapped up by holidaymakers tend to be those that photograph well and are bright, clean and spacious and with the best location, such as apartments or villas with sea or golf views. This new development in Aloha in Nueva Andalucía presents a great investment opportunity. Being located in the Golf Valley, it can be rented out year round, to sunseekers in the summer and golfers in the winter. These apartments are wonderfully spacious and benefit from generous south-facing terraces that look out onto the beautifully manicured tropical gardens below.
