The only was is Marbella!.
Every summer Marbella shoots to fame as the holiday destination for the Only Way is Essex, Britain’s incredibly popular scripted reality TV show. Romance, gossip and hideously inappropriate swimwear take over the glitzy resort town for one paparazzi-filled week. But now, given the huge popularity of the show’s summer specials, Marbella could be set for its very own reality TV series. Producers believe fans of the Essex show will flock to a Costa del Sol spin-off, and while a whole new cast will be brought in, some familiar TOWIE stars will also be on hand to make the occasional sun-soaked cameo appearance in Marbella. ‘Life on Marbs’ has been proposed as the working title for the series, which would be similar in most ways to TOWIE…except for the beaches, yachts and sunshine of Puerto Banús replacing Essex streets, clubs and pubs. British newspaper The Sun first revealed the rumours, with a spokesperson claiming the show “will follow the glamorous lives of some of Marbella’s most fabulous residents. This series will reveal what life is really like in Marbella,” they added. Broadcast on ITVBe, Life on Marbs is hoped to be a mix between the glitzy charm of TOWIE and the upmarket attraction of Made in Chelsea. If the rumours are true, this is bound to be a boost for Marbella, which sees a rise in hotel bookings every time the TOWIE special is aired. But the area is not unaccustomed to TV crews, having starred as the sunny location in Marbella Belles, which ran for one season in 2007, while a brand new crime series called ‘Cash’ is due to start filming in the town and Puerto Banús this summer, starring American actors Michael Madsen and Armand Assante. It seems the film industry has discovered a new star!
