Just over a year ago the Costa del Sol hotel and leisure industries received the positive news that the iconic Hotel Byblos was to reopen in Mijas. Since the announcement, the town has continued to evoke interest in the form of other significant projects, with investors contemplating Mijas as a favorable location to establish a business.
The latest exciting news is that the Logarma SL company intends to spend 60 million euros building a tourist development near La Cala de Mijas, on a substantial site in the Entrerríos area of the district.
The complex, to be named Valle del Golf Resort, will comprise many facilities including a five-star hotel, an equestrian centre and one of the largest golf courses in Andalucía.
The new scheme is a part of the ongoing improvements and expansion of Mijas which continues to drive the popularity of the resort and the reason why lot of people are buying property there.
“The most important thing for the people of Mijas in this case is that the project will generate 410 jobs and will also help to boost the local economy” the mayor of Mijas, Juan Carlos Maldonado, announced in a recent statement about Valle del Golf Resort.
Details pertaining to the complex so far include a five-star hotel with 156 bedrooms, a spa centre, a banqueting room and a restaurant specialising in Andalusian cuisine. Elsewhere on the development the ‘Pueblo Adele’ urbanisation will consist of 350 residential apartments set around a central square that will be used for concerts and events.
The Valle del Golf Resort is the type of initiative that will attract additional income from new visitors throughout the year as golf is a sport than can be played even in winter in this part of southern Spain – and it is at the heart of very positive growth news for the area.
